BROWN DEER - One local blogger had the Ryan Braun story before any of the national baseball experts -- and he's only a teenager.

Most 16-year-olds are thinking about getting their driver's license, this guy is making national headlines for scooping every sports insider out there.

It's been a whirlwind for Curt Hogg.  The Brown Deer teen beat everyone to the punch when he blogged last week about a source telling him Ryan Braun's drug test was mishandled.

"One word, I would say hectic," said Curt Hogg.  He was asked about how he found out about the story.  "I don't really know, we were just having a conversation about baseball."

In his blog, Hogg explains: "An anonymous source has reported to Plushdamentals that Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun’s drug test that tested positive for increased levels of synthetic testosterone was mishandled, thus likely altering the results of the test.  The report exclusively reached Plushdamentals through a source familiar with a former college teammate of Braun’s at the University of Miami and reportedly has knowledge of the situation.."

As for his skeptics, Curt Hogg told TODAY'S TMJ4, "If they don't believe it, they don't believe it.  It's their choice."

The last 24 hours for Hogg have included phone calls from media outlets in LA and New York.  His web site, which usually sees about 100 hits a day, has had over 5,000.

His father Jim isn't surprised.  "It's as good as anything I read professionally, I'm just, it's outstanding," said Jim Hogg.

Hogg said he doesn't plan on doing anything differently now that he's had a taste of fame.  His advice to other budding bloggers:  "Just keep writing.  You never know what's going to happen."

Hogg told TODAY'S TMJ4 his big plans include: going to college and studying journalism.
