A tight end for the Green Bay Packers is going to the team's greatest symbol of victory for inspiration as he literally and figuratively takes the next steps toward recovery from a reported spinal injury.
In fact, a report Tuesday says a big step could come very soon. As reported by ESPN's Ed Werder:
Packers TE Jermichael Finley should be released from hospital in next 24 hrs. Doctors believe he can play again but when remains unknown— Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) October 22, 2013
Jermichael Finley tweeted this Tuesday:
The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall. - Vince Lombardi http://t.co/o7qB23d0DM— Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) October 22, 2013
Looking at the twitpic video linked in his tweet, it appears to be Finley literally taking steps, walking down a hallway in his hospital.
Finley suffered what ESPN calls a bruised spinal cord during Sunday's 31-13 Packers win over Cleveland.
