Resident of New York City's Staten Island borough are panicked and taking to social media to report on a potential threat to their town. There is a creepy clown on the loose.
Dressed in a yellow clown suit with a white puffed collar, painted face and a red nose, this bald-headed clown can be found lurking in silence in plain sight, holding balloons.

"One Instagram user compared the costumed character to Bozo, a former professional wrestler known as Doink and the infamous Pennywise, from Stephen King's 'It,'" reports the Staten Island Advance.

The Advance further reports that "sightings have been reported by the Grasmere and Richmond Valley train stations. Two photos of the oddball have appeared on Instagram, with one showing the clown standing in front of a detour sign. Another image shows him lurking behind a tree."

As of yet, the clown is not reported as having posed a real threat, besides haunting dreams at night. The identity of the clown and his or her reason for appearing is also unknown at this time.
