LONDON -- Imagine spending nearly your entire life trapped in captivity. That's the story out of London on Thursday, and it involves three women who have been held against their will for 30 years Daily Mail reports.
A 69-year-old Malaysian woman, a 57-year-old Irish woman and a 30-year-old British woman have spent the last 30 years trapped with a couple in Lambeth, a town south of London. The women were only able to escape after extensive talks with Freedom Charity, an organization that one of the women phoned after working up the courage to do so.
Once they had decided to leave, the women were able to walk out of their home without the couple knowing. Police were waiting for them, based on information the charity had given them.
The women are all deeply traumatized and were in fear of the couple that had taken them hostage.
No other info has been released at this time, but the couple is now in custody.
