Move over Egg McMuffin, here comes the Waffle Taco
Move over Egg McMuffin, Taco Bell is entering the breakfast game.
On the same day news broke that McDonald's is thinking about extending their breakfast hours, Taco Bell has announced it is adding breakfast to its offerings.
Taco Bell is known for its low-budget tacos and burritos. The company is promising an inventive take on classic breakfast items such as eggs, sausage, bacon and hashbrowns.
One such item will be the Waffle Taco -- a warm waffle wrapped around a hearty sausage patty or bacon. Another item will be the A.M. Crunchwrap with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, bacon or sausage wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
Taco Bell will begin serving breakfast nationwide March 27, but has been testing the new breakfast items in cities in California, Nebraska and Tennessee for several months.
McDonald's owns at least a 20 percent share of fast food breakfast, according to USA Today.
The menu is designed to appeal to Taco Bell's fan base of younger men, according to ABC News and Associated Press.
Here is a list of what will be on the menu:
