New Police Precinct Opens In Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Grand opening celebration is scheduled Monday for Nashville's newest police precinct.

The Midtown Hills Police Precinct is located at 1443 12th Avenue South and is Metro’s eighth full-service precinct facility.

Midtown Hills will serve Edgehill, Green Hills, Forest Hills, Oak Hill and Crieve Hall as well as Vanderbilt,
Belmont and Lipscomb Universities.

The Grand opening celebration is set for 10 a.m. Monday morning.

Mayor Karl Dean and Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson will host the festivities.

The 23,000-square-foot building will be home to 125 police personnel.

Midtown Hills will be commanded by Kay Lokey, a 17-year police department veteran who previously headed the Domestic Violence Division.
