NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 31-year-old man was shot while sitting in his car outside an east Nashville gas station overnight.
The victim told police he and another man drove to the Z Mart on Dickerson Pike around 12:30 a.m. Monday. After going inside to get a drink, he said he noticed two men standing outside.
Once the man got back into his car, he told police the two men walked up to the vehicle and fired one shot without saying a word.
“The victims thought, at one point, they were going to come up and ask for some money. They became a little bit fearful, and again he just walked up unprovoked and fired a shot into the vehicle,” said Metro Police Lt. William Mackall.
The victim was struck in the arm. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The owner of the gas station said the suspects had been in and out of the building all night long. Police said there was surveillance video of the incident.
Metro Police said the gunman was said to have dreadlocks. That part of the description was similar to another incident just after 3:30 a.m. on Ewing Drive in North Nashville. A 19-year-old man was critically injured after being shot during what police said was an attempted robbery.
No arrests have been made.
