Kenny Rogers Featured In New Exhibit At Country Music Hall Of Fame

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The latest special exhibit to open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum puts fans up close and personal with, “The Gambler.”

Kenny Rogers: Through the Years features mementos ranging from clothing, to awards, to programs from his concerts. He said it has been fun to see it all come together.

“I was real impressed with the detail and what they’ve done,” said Rogers. “The Gambler costume is a standout for me. I remember wearing that jacket and not knowing my lines and everyone yelling at me.”

The exhibit also features his contributions to the community and pop culture, as well as some never before seen photographs he took of his famous friends.

Rogers said the key to his long career is sticking to what he does best.

“I think my gift is not so much singing, as it is finding great songs,” said Rogers. “I have always had a feel for that. If a song touches me, I can make it touch someone else.”

During the exhibit’s opening weekend, Rogers will also recount memories of his life and career during an interview session in the CMA Theater Saturday at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, the film Kenny Rogers: Live by Request will be shown at 2 p.m.

All programs are included with museum admission and are free to museum members.

Rogers has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. He has earned three Grammys, six Country Music Association awards, eight Academy of Country Music awards and was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
