17-Year-Old Injured In Antioch Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 17-year-old was shot during a drug deal in Antioch on Thursday night.

Metropolitan Nashville Police said the victim was conducting a drug sale at the corner of Ascot Drive at Chestwick Court just before 9 p.m. During the sale, police said the suspect attempted to rob the victim and shot him twice.

The shooter fled in a blue or silver vehicle. 

Police said the victim's family heard the gunshots, and came out to check on the teen. They took him to a nearby fire station, where he was then taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical center. 

The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening. 

Police said the victim and the shooter know each other, and they do not believe it was a random act. 

The shooting remained under investigation. No arrests have been made.
