COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Firefighters were able to contain a fire in a storage trailer from spreading to a Columbia auto business on Thursday morning.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to the fire at Stoney's Wrecker Service at 1230 Industrial Park Road just before 10:15 a.m.

The storage trailer behind the business was engulfed in flames and threatening the building. Firefighters were able to quickly attack the fire and prevent it from spreading to the building.

It was under control by 10:30 a.m.

No one was hurt.

Employees said a generator blew a pisto, which pierced a line containing diesel fuel. Sparks ignited the fuel and flames erupted.

Employees used three fire extinguishers before they realized it was time to call for help.

An estimate of damages was not available.
