NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Crews battled a fire in a wooded area of Fort Negley Park in south Nashville on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the area along Ft. Negley Boulevard near the Adventure Science Center just before 7:30 a.m. Smoke could be seen from miles away.

Officials said the fire broke out in a homeless camp.

Sky 5 HD showed smoke coming from a burned out structure near what appeared to be a tent in a wooded area.

Metropolitan Nashville Police dispatch had earlier said the call came in as a possible meth lab, but officials on the scene would not comment.

No injuries were reported.

The roadway was closed while crews were on the scene, but has since reopened.
