Man Shot, Killed During Robbery Attempt In Antioch

ANTIOCH, Tenn. – A 37-year-old man was shot and killed outside his Antioch home during an apparent attempted robbery on Tuesday night.

Officials with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said Moises Zarate was shot to death at the residence in the 5000 block of Oakwood Forest Drive.

Two masked gunmen reportedly approached Zarate and his cousin while they were unloading items from a vehicle around 9:30 p.m.

One of the gunmen grabbed Zarate from behind while the other threatened to shoot his cousin. 

The cousin ran away, and told police he heard gunshots before seeing the men flee on foot.

Zarate was hit by gunfire, and died at the scene.

Police said the gunmen may have fled in a small silver car.

"K-9 officers came out ran a track in the direction that the suspects fled on foot that was not sucessful," said Metro Police Captain Kenneth Walburn.
