Last month, Garth Brooks announced that he’d signed a new recording deal with Sony Music. On Tuesday at an event in Nashville, his wife, Trisha Yearwood, revealed that she has done the same.
The three-time Grammy winning country singer will release her 12th studio album, “PrizeFighter,” on Sony’s RCA Nashville imprint. No release date was announced. She has not put out a new album since 2007.
“I can't even find the right words to express how excited I am to be releasing new music,” Trisha says in a prepared statement. “I chose the title ‘PrizeFighter’ because it feels like an anthem for all of us. It's about fighting for what you believe in, and never giving up, even when it's hard. It's a message we all need to hear. I'm so looking forward to working with the amazing staff at Sony. Music is what feeds my soul, and I'm grateful to them for giving me the chance to share what I love.”
At the Nashville event, Trisha also announced an Aug. 23 premiere date for the fifth season of her Emmy Award-winning Food Network series, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.” She also reiterated previously announced plans for a third cookbook to feature family recipes and anecdotes. It will be published in April 2015 by Clarkson Potter. Her two previous cookbooks, 2008’s “Georgia Cooking on an Oklahoma Kitchen” and 2010’s “Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood,” were New York Times bestsellers.
The busy star also made a series of other announcements, including that she’s signed on as a spokesperson for condiment brand Hellmann’s. Additionally, she will release her own line of Precious Metals cookware (from the Cookware Company, makers of GreenPan), cutlery (from Furi) and additional lifestyle brands to be announced.
Her cookware will be available on QVC this November and in 400 Walmart stores next spring. Her line of cutlery with Furi will feature two offerings, Professional (available on QVC in November) and Essentials (available early 2015).
As previously announced, Trisha will join Garth’s world tour when it kicks off in Chicago Sept. 4. In related news, Garth’s publicist announced on Tuesday that he has added another show to his run of dates planned for the Chicago area’s Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, bringing the total number of September shows in that market to 11. The new show is Sept. 5 at 10:30 p.m. Garth is doing two shows a night on select nights during the tour.
