Miranda Lambert tops CMA Awards nominations with nine

Miranda Lambert topped the nominations for "The 48th Annual CMA Awards" with nods in nine categories, matching a record she sent in 2010 for female nominees. Alan Jackson continues to hold the overall record for single year nominations. He earned 10 in 2002.
In this years's categories, Dierks Bentley earned five nominations, Eric Church and Keith Urban each scored four, and the triple nominees are Luke Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood.
Reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town -- Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Philip Sweet -- joined CMA Award winner Darius Rucker on Wednesday morning on "Good Morning America" to announce nominees in the first five major categories, and Little Big Town earned a nomination of their own in the Vocal Group of the Year category.
A full press conference live stream followed at 10 a.m. ET at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square to reveal the seven remaining categories.
Her nominations Wednesday morning bring Miranda's career total of CMA nominations to 34. Reba McEntire continues to hold the record for female artist nominations with 49, followed by Dolly Parton (44) and Loretta Lynn (39), making Miranda fourth on the list.
George Strait, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, retains his status as the most nominated artist in CMA Awards history with 83, including his newest nomination in the Entertainer field.
