According to a published report, the Green Bay Packers' president has expressed hopes to retire the jersey of former quarterback Brett Favre before he enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Packers President Mark Murphy told the Green Bay Press-Gazette about his hopes for Favre to return by 2016 for a jersey retirement ceremony.
Favre would be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame that August.
Favre acrimoniously left the team in a 2008 trade, but many overtures on both sides have happened to help build the hope for a joyful reunion between the team and the record-setting QB.
