Report: Packers claim wide receiver/tight end from 49ers
The Green Bay Packers are apparently adding a receiver to their injury-depleted roster.
ESPN's Bill Williamson reported this Friday.
His colleague, Rob Demovsky, said this about the move:
Pro Football Reference says Harper, a 6-1, 229 lb. receiver, was drafted by the Seahawks but spent time on the 49ers roster this year. He didn't see any game action.
The team waived him on Thursday.
To make room, the Packers reportedly have waived their own running back. According to the Journal Sentinel's Tyler Dunne:
The Packers did not initially confirm the moves Friday.
Green Bay waived Michael Hill to make room for Harper, but he could return to the practice squad if he clears waivers.— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) October 18, 2013
