When a young, disabled person is showing off her musical skills for a charity commercial in a big, historic theater, it's enough of an amazing experience.
When that same young person suddenly sees a Super Bowl and NFL MVP quarterback show up, then jams and sings with him, it reaches a whole other level.
"Really amazing. He's a really nice guy. I wasn't expecting it at all. It was really nice to be featured on 'his show,' " said Kelly Letart, Aaron Rodgers' duet partner in the latest "It's Aaron" video, on TODAY'S TMJ4's "The Morning Blend."
Kelly, who endures spina bifida and has had 10 surgeries, showed off her musical abilities with Rodgers as part of the viral video which promoted Milwaukee's "Independence First."
Producer Greg Marshall says that the process of creating the video came from "getting to know ("It's Aaron" sponsor David Gruber) and his family, getting to know Aaron. These are people who sincerely want to be generous in the community, want to create something really meaningful."
"He's a guy who realizes a lot of people celebrate him, but he has this core humility about him. He recognizes 'I'm not the center of the universe.' "
But one thing Kelly, 13, shyly admitted to: "Yes, he is (cute)."
Perhaps that's the spillover recognition after an inspiring experience with a charitable superstar quarterback.
