The quarterback who re-wrote the Packers and NFL record books is asking for fans to get behind a young artist who faces cancer.

Brett Favre is using his web site to let people know about Obadiah Christenson, an eight-year-old boy from La Crescent, Minn. (just across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin) with neuroblastoma.  Gunderson Health System is giving him treatment.

According to WXOW-TV, Favre called Christenson while he was getting treatments last summer.

Obi has entered the White Cloud tissue box contest, where fans can vote for his work.  If he gets in the top three of the contest, his artwork will go on White Cloud tissue boxes and his hospital will raise $15,000.

"Please help us bring Obi some hope and joy during his tough battle with cancer," Favre wrote on his site.

Fans have until tomorrow to vote.  Click here to take part.
