After Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson signed on the dotted line of a four-year, $39 million contract extension, teammates like Aaron Rodgers called for a similar deal to happen soon for bookend Randall Cobb.
Has Cobb earned such a major deal? Perhaps not in the eyes of Cobb himself.
As reported by NBC26's Dan Koob:
Randall Cobb addressed his contract situation today. Said he can't take back missing 10 games due to injury, hasn't done enough.— Dan Koob (@DanKoob) July 27, 2014
Cobb's contract ends this season, which means he'll be a free agent. Maybe Cobb's strategy could be described well by Cheesehead TV's Brian Carriveau:
Have to imagine the ball is in Cobb's court. If he stays healthy & productive, he can make more by playing out the season, If not, well...— Brian Carriveau (@BrianCarriveau) July 27, 2014
