GREEN BAY -- People across Wisconsin are gearing up for a new Thanksgiving tradition that doesn't involve eating a lot of food.
The 6th Annual Turkey Trot kicks off at five locations in Northeast Wisconsin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. People in Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Manitowoc, and Oshkosh picked up their number bibs and t-shirts tonight in preparation for tomorrow's race. Runners say, despite the possibility for snow, they're still excited. "It's just a good way to start out Thanksgiving before we can go and eat all our turkey. It's just a nice way to get some exercise in the morning," says Teri Olsen, a runner from Green Bay.
New this year: the Dog Jog. Dogs and their people will start the race after all other runners have crossed the starting line, around 8:15. They'll run the 2-mile course. Your dog doesn't need to register, but you can pick up a race bandana for your pooch at the registration table.
