APPLETON, WI -- Fox Valley Technical College has new resources to help some students finish school.
The college announced Friday they received a $105,000 college success grant to help male African Americans graduate. The money will be used to form a "brother to brother" program and school leaders hope it will improve completion rates for minority students.
"Over the last couple of years african american populations have been increasing, likewise enrollment and applications at FVTC, so anything we can do to ensure these students will be successful as a represetative of the college, we are pretty excited," said program coordinator, Rayon Brown.
Students will receive one-on-one coaching to help them manage their workload and meet other students who can help support them.
