Keith Urban, Miguel Grammy nominations live performance rehearsal gets 'Merry'
They've never performed together but the pairing of country superstar Keith Urban and Grammy-winning R&B singer Miguel promises to be a unique collaboration during tonight's "Grammy Nominations Live" telecast from Los Angeles.
The Associated Press reports that at Thursday's rehearsal the two worked out the kinks for what will be a "a minimalist performance that features no band." Instead, they'll feature just a cellist, Keith on guitar and Miguel broadcasting the rest of the song from his laptop.
"That's our whole band right there." Keith said. At one point during the rehearsal, while Miguel was tinkering with his computer, Keith and the cellist performed an an impromptu rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
"I don't have any of that on my laptop," Miguel was reported to have jokingly told the pair.
Also on tap during the telecast, in addition to the Grammy nominations that will be revealed, is a taped performance from Taylor Swift, who will be seen on stage in Sydney, Australia. The seven-time Grammy recipient will perform her smash hit, "I Knew You Were Trouble."
