Miranda Lambert in tears over dog shelter situation
Miranda Lambert teared up when she talked about helping to build an animal shelter in her adopted hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
In a video released by her Mutt Nation Foundation, Miranda was joined by her mom and dad and 50 volunteers rebuilding the animal shelter. Miranda said there wasn't really a shelter when she arrived in the town. “It broke my heart," she says. "I called my mom crying, and I was like, 'We have to do something in Tishomingo.'"
Miranda and volunteers built a play area and new enclosures for the dogs. She explains in the video that happy and healthy dogs are more likely to get adopted. “It’s all about those dogs in those enclosures that need a home,” says the star singer, now crying. “That’s what we’re doing today, because when I came here, there was nothing.”
Pedigree stepped in and provided workers for shelter overhaul and more than 20 million pounds of food so far. Watch a video of the shelter rehab below.
