Winter Weather Chances
Probability Of Any Freezing Rain For Friday
I'm looking at two chances for winter precipitation in the forecast.
The first will happen as cold air rushes into the Ozarks on Friday. Temperatures will be in the thirties on Friday and rainfall will be on its way out.
If freezing temperatures and rain cross over, it would set the stage for very light freezing rain or freezing drizzle on Friday and/or Friday night. This would be most likely in areas just west and northwest of Springfield.
As of Thursday morning, advisories for winter precipitation are confined to much of Kansas and Oklahoma.
After a dry and cold weekend, another chance for winter precipitation comes into play Sunday night and early Monday. In this situation, cold air will still be hanging around while a band of precipitation rolls in from the southwest.
This would mean the potential for either snow, sleet or freezing rain on Sunday night. Computer model guidence isn't solid on Sunday night's precipitation so this one will need to be watched over the next few days.
