Training For The Western Taney County Fire Protection District
Training for new recruits, firefighters from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District took a course on vehicle rescue in Ridgedale over the weekend.

This past weekend, probationary firefighters completed one of 8 courses that is part of their probationary firefighter training program on Vehicle Rescue.
This course uses curriculum from the University of Missouri Fire & Rescue Training Institute to teach firefighters about vehicle construction, vehicle hazards, and different ways to rescue people who may become trapped in a vehicle after a crash.
The 16 hour course is a combination of classroom and actual hands on training where students used the actual tools to practice the skills they had learned in the classroom.
