Name Released In Fatal Home Invasion Shooting In Springfield

Springfield Police have identified the man who was fatally shot this morning as Kenneth R. Fry, 40, from Springfield.
Investigators say Fry was among several people who broke into a home on north Missouri near Webster and was shot by someone living there. He later died at the hospital.
Police ask anyone with information about the people who were with Fry to contact SPD at 417-864-1810 or Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS.
Update 11:30 am:
A shooting that happened early this morning at a home on 1120 North Missouri in Springfield is being investigated as a homicide.

At 5:20 this morning, Springfield Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 1120 N. Missouri Avenue and arrived to find a man who had been shot.
The man was transported to a hospital and later died. Initial reports indicate that an occupant of the home shot the man after he broke in to the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

Police in Springfield responded to a shooting at a home in the 1100 block of North Missouri Avenue early Saturday morning.
It happened around 5:30 a.m.
Dispatchers said a male was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Neighbors reported hearing an argument just prior to the shooting.
