Heavy Rain Potential

Flash Flood Watch Wednesday-Thursday

Heavy Rain Potential

By Ted Keller. CREATED Oct 29, 2013

Owing to the heavy rain that fell on Tuesday and the overall weather pattern that is setting up, portions of the Ozarks should be on the lookout for flash flooding over the next few days.

A Flash Flood Watch has been hoisted for all of southwest Missouri for the period of Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

The pattern features high humidity at the surface and through a deeper layer of the atmosphere.  As a storm system aloft approaches the area from the southwest, rounds of rain and storms are expected to develop.

Additional rain totals of 1-3" can be expected in portions of the watch area by Thursday afternoon. This is on top of similar totals which fell in the parts of the Ozarks early on Tuesday.
