Fire Damages Vacant Home In Springfield
A vacant home in north Springfield caught fire shortly before midnight.
"We arrived to find the home in the 1500 block of North Rogers fully engulfed in flames," Battalion Chief Kevin Trogden told KTTS News. "One structure next to it was in danger. We concentrated on keeping that structure from catching fire. We then extinguished the other building. It took us about 45 minutes to get the fire under control."
The home was significantly damaged, according to Trogden. "We were not able to immediately determine how and where the fire started because the home was too dangerous for us to go inside."
The fire marshal is investigating.
