Drug Take Back Day Is Saturday In Greene And Christian Counties
Several groups and more than a half dozen pharmacies across Greene and Christian County are taking part in drug take back initiative.
Authorities say unused or expired prescription and over the counter medications can lead to poisoning, overdose and abuse. Sponsored by Drug Enforcement Administration and the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the program will provide a way to safely dispose of unwanted medication with no questions asked.
In Springfield, eight locations will be set up on Saturday to take medications at no charge, between 10 am and 2pm
Dan's Discount Drug at 2625 north Kansas Expressway
Medicine Shop Pharmacy at 811 east Division
Mercy-Smith,Glynn Callaway at 3816 south National
Orchard Hills Pharmacy at 3816 west Chestnut Expressway
South Oaks Pharmacy at 3305 south Campbell
Sunshine Health Mart at 1536 west Sunshine
Community Partnership of the Ozarks will sponsor a location at Central Assembly, 1301 North Booneville from 7am to Noon.
Drury University is sponsoring a take back location at Findlay Student Center from 11am to 1pm.
In Christian County, The Reduce the Abuse Coalition is sponsoring drug take back locations from 10am to 2pm at the following locations
Family Pharmacy at 7154 Missouri Highway 14 in Ozark
Family Pharmacy at 6809 Missouri Highway 14 in Clever
Family Pharmacy at 1152 west Jackson in Ozark
Items that will be accepted include
Over the counter medications
Liquid medications in glass or leak proof containers
Non accepted items
