Springfield Restaurant Reopens After Health Department Finds Numerous Violations

A restaurant on the northeast side of Springfield is back open, nearly two weeks after it had its permit yanked.
Hibachi Grill on East Kearney closed for the fourth time 12 days ago because of what health officials called "repeat critical violations... and health hazards." The violations included cockroaches, dirty cooking surfaces, as well as backed up sinks and drains.
Officials said it wasn't the first time the restaurant had failed an inspection. Hibachi Grill had to close three times last year for many of the same violations.
Health inspectors will make weekly visits to ensure the restaurant is following procedures.
