New country music duo Maddie & Tae are taking on "bro country" with their hilarious debut single and video, "Girl In A Country Song."

In it, teen singers Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye mock all the cliches associated with the currently popular "bro country" song trend, including trucks, tailgates, dirt roads, and especially female characters in "painted on" jeans with tanned legs and bare feet who don't mind being referred to as "hey girl" and like to shake their "money maker." Their female empowerment lyrics affectionally mock those songs that objectify women.

"Being a girl in country msuic songs these days is really hard," Maddie recently joked to Billboard. On a more serious note, she added, "We want to look good for all these guys and everything, but it's not all we have to offer. We want girls to know to respect themselves and expect respect back."

In writing the tongue-in-cheek song with Nashville songwriter/producer Aaron Scherz, Maddie, 19, and Tae, 18, cleverly incorporated lines from recent hits, including Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here," Tyler Farr's "Redneck Crazy," Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party," Chris Young's "Aw Naw," Billy Currington's "Hey Girl," Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" and Thomas Rhett's "Get Me Some of That" with lyrics like, "We used to get a little respect, now we're lucky if we even get to climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut, and ride along."

The single is off to a fast start , with a No. 39 debut on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
