  • ; ; ; MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL a division of the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY Troop I Headquarters, P.O. Box 128, Rolla, Mo. 65402 NEWS RELEASE I06F15 June 30, 2015 For further information please contact: Sergeant Cody H. Fulkerson Ext; 3953 EMPHASIS: Troop I Prepares For Independence Day Holiday Traffic Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer Troop I, Rolla, Missouri, announces that Troop I will be participating in several special enforcement operations over the Independence Day weekend. The objective of these operations is to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes. Throughout the entire holiday weekend, troopers within Troop I and the entire state will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort). In addition to Operation C.A.R.E., Troop I will be participating in the statewide 20-Mile Trooper project during the peak travel periods on Thursday, July 2, 2015, and Sunday, July 5, 2015. During this operation, Troop I troopers will be assigned to 20-mile stretches of Interstate 44 to maximize visibility. Enforcement efforts on secondary roads within Troop I will be conducted during this same timeframe. Troop I will also be conducting a sobriety checkpoint and a DWI saturation in Crawford County during the month of July. The areas selected for enforcement are based on a high number of alcohol-related crashes, high number of contacts with drivers who have been drinking, and officers input as to probable contact with DWI violators. Captain Remillard stated troopers at the checkpoint will be checking operators licenses and insurance cards, and looking for motorist who are driving while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Sgt. Cody H. Fulkerson

  • Please see the attached release and photo. Thank you for your time and consideration. For Immediate Release to Media Outlets               The Western Taney County Fire Protection District is very proud to announce the graduation of fourteen individuals from its hter I & II certification academy. Firefighters from Western Taney County, College of the Ozarks, Omaha, and Central Taney County started the academy on January 5th in an effort to increase their knowledge and skills in the fire service.             These dedicated individuals spent over 200 hours developing their skills in structural firefighting, vehicle firefighting, search and rescue, water supply, fire streams, and salvage. During the academy students all attended specialty classes on hazardous materials and vehicle extrication. Firefighter I & II is a very rigorous and demanding class Individuals taking this class are subjected to high stress environments while learning the necessary skills to save lives and property all while trying to remain safe in an inherently dangerous profession.             To make it all the more interesting these firefighters are all volunteers. They have surrendered their Monday and Wednesday nights for the last five months spending time away from family, modifying work and school schedules, and sacrificing their time to better themselves and the fire service as a whole. The culmination of their hard work paid off on Saturday June 27th when all fourteen firefighters passed their State of Missouri skills testing. They are now all eligible to take the written test through the state and be certified to the Firefighter I & II level. Please help us in congratulating our firefighters: Billywayne, Kepford WTCFPD, Bryan Pippen, CTCFD, Chad Keafer Omaha Fire Dept,, Dane Dartez WTCFPD, John Nichols WTCFPD, Colton Reid WTCFPD, Jon Rasmussen WTCFPD, Blain Bias C of O Fire, Mike Cobb, WTCFPD, Mike Shady WTCFPD, Jared Easton WTCFPD, John Wood C of O Fire, Katie Gillesp WTCFPD
