Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Families are getting ready for the start of school, and this can be a stressful time for kids in foster care.
A special event on Sunday helped give them a boost ahead of the new year. It was a day at the salon for about 325 kids in foster care.
They were primped and pampered, they even got their nails done. It was all free.
It's because of a back-to-school event put on every year by the Casa Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves kids.
The Square Salon near Fort Apache and Charleston donated its services.
The reality is these kids may need haircuts, but what they really need is to feel special. This day gives them just that.
The Casa Foundation's president said on average, there are 3,500 kids living in foster care in Clark County.
The foundation said they wish they could help more.
