Mexican Independence Day celebrations in Las Vegas

Numerous bars, restaurants and attractions are celebrating Mexican Independence Day with deals and specials for locals and visitors.
Cabo Wabo Cantina at Miracle Mile Shops
Cabo Wabo will offer a three-course pre fixe menu of authentic Mexican favorites from Sept. 12-16. The specialty menu will be available for $39 per person. Guests will begin with a choice between a bowl of Tortilla Soup or Baja Shrimp Ceviche appetizer. For the main course, guests may choose between Tequila Shrimp or Chicken Mole Tamal. Diners will be treated to Cabo Wabo's new dessert, the Salted Caramel Fried Ice Cream, to conclude the feast.
Chayo Mexican Kitchen at The LINQ
Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar will offer a specialty menu from Sept. 12-16. An authentic menu of Mexican specialties will be available exclusively for the holiday.
El Grito Family Festival at Lucky Club Casino & Hotel
Lucky Club Casino & Hotel on Civic Center Drive will host a free family festival to celebrate El Grito from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 14. The event will feature ponly rides, a petting zoo, face painting, magic show, balloon animals, a bouncy house, a family-friendly DJ, and food and beverages from Lucia’s Cantina, Tacos Luna Food Truck, and Pachua Hidalgo Catering. The event is generously sponsored by Community Services of Nevada, El Mundo, Jarritos Soda, Corona and Patron. $1 specials on Corona, Modelo, Patron and tacos. Live music in casino from 7 to 10 p.m. and karaoke en espanol in Lucy's Bar and Grill from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Mercadito at Red Rock
Mercadito will celebrate with specially-created dishes and beverages. The Mexican restaurant will offer two exclusive dishes on Sept. 15: Chiles en Nogada and Huarache Mexicano. The signature items will be available for both lunch and dinner.
Salted Lime at Aliante Casino
The Salted Lime is celebrating with food and drink specials from Sept. 12-16. The Mexican cantina will feature half-priced chicken fajitas, $2 house margaritas and a combination of a Dos Equis and Arta Tequila shot for $6.
Tacos & Tequila at the Luxor
Tacos & Tequila will celebrate the holiday from Sept. 12-16 with authentic Mexican dishes and drink specials. Corporate Executive Chef Saul Ortiz will prepare Chicken Posole Soup served with guajillo epazote broth, shredded chicken, white hominy and cabbage, priced at $9; Mexican Banderillas with marinated filet mignon, citrus achiote shrimp and grilled vegetables with a cactus chorizo salad and avocado salsa, priced at $23; and a Chocolate Ice Cream Churro Tower served with Mexican chocolate ice cream, warm churros and whipped cream. Specialty cocktails will also be available.
On Sept. 15, spend a night amidst Mariachi serenades while enjoying unlimited margarita tastings at The Cosmopolitan's inaugural Original Margarita Festival from 7-11 p.m., showcasing Las Vegas' most celebrated mixologists and their own signature Margarita recipe. Additionally, guests will enjoy Mexican-inspired culinary offerings for purchase. Tickets for the festival are $40. Each ticket includes entry from 7-11 p.m. and unlimited margarita tastings. The LINQ will be a hot spot for Mexican Independence Day weekend starting on Sept. 12. The weekend celebration will feature live entertainment and numerous discounts for guests who check-in at the InVEGAS welcome desk at The LINQ Promenade entrance.
