New parking options available downtown for First Friday
The City of Las Vegas will be expanding its partnership with the Downtown Project to create additional parking options downtown.
The plan is to open another new parking lot east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Through the partnership, the Downtown Project continues to develop its empty lots into parking areas to keep up with the growing number of visitors.
The city's Parking Service Division will operate and patrol the new Container Park lot which opens on Friday, Aug 1 at 5 p.m.
The parking areas are as follows:
- Container Park Lot (directly across 7th Street from the Container Park) between Fremont and Carson. The lot has 68 spaces with daytime metered parking at $2 per hour, $10 all day. Night/Weekend Metered parking at a $10 flat rate and special event parking ranging from $10-$30.
- Gold Spike Lot (northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Odgen) the lot contains 76 spaces and the prices are the same as the Container Park Lot (see above).
- Llama Lot (site of the old Ambassador Hotel) on Ninth and Fremont Streets. The lot contains 359 parking spots with metered parking costing $1 per hour and $6 for all day. Night and Weekend parking is a flat rate of $5. Monthly parking is $30 per month and special event parking ranges from $5 to $15.
All lots will be open for special event parking for First Friday.
