Top Las Vegas medical professionals recognized during annual event

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Vegas Inc. recently celebrated the accomplishments and careers of Las Vegas' leading medical professionals during its 8th annual Health Care Headliners ceremony.
The event took place at the Keep Memory Alive Center at Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and recognized winners in 11 different categories.
The 2014 Health Care Headliners recipients were Dr. Olya Banchik, founder and executive director of Smiles for Survivors Foundation; Maria Barton, physical therapist at MoutainView Hospital; Jill Bernacki, CEO at Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada; Dr. Fadi Braiteh, medical oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada; Dr. Renee Coffman, president of Roseman University of Health Sciences; Cassandra Cotton, community outreach manager at Nathan Adelson Hospice; Tim Foley, advanced practice nurse-board certified at MountainView Hospital’s Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Associates; Dr. Mitchell Forman, founding dean and professor at Touro University Nevada; Dr. Stephen Portz, chief of cardiology at HealthCare Partners Nevada; Shelli Lara, founder and president of Innovative Healthcare Delivery; and Dr. Laurine Tibaldi, chief medical officer at United Healthcare Services, Inc./Health Plan of Nevada.
More than 300 guests attended the event, including former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Nevada’s 1st Congressional District Shelley Berkley.
Publisher at Greenspun Media Group Travis Keys and Editor of Special Publications at Greenspun Media Group Rob Langrell addressed the crowd and introduced the evening’s host and Director of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health Dr. Jeffery L. Cummings.
The ceremony was presented by WellHealth Quality Care and sponsored by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, Desert Radiologists, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and Keep Memory Alive Event Center.
