Paris Las Vegas celebrates milestone on Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- 15 years ago on Monday, customers first entered Paris Las Vegas and found stone walkways lined with French-dressed employees.

Executives marked the occasion by passing out free champagne and toasting their customers and longtime employees.

"Here's to many, many, many more years of success and happiness for Paris Las Vegas. Cheers," General Manager Ryan Hammer said.

Hammer attributes the resort's success and ability to survive the recession to former executives ability to predict trends.

"We try to be ahead of the curve on the food and beverage trends, the entertainment trends and certainly have a world class casino experience as well," Hammer said.

While they have seen a lot of other resorts come and go over the last 15 years, employees who have been at Paris since day one said the southwest corner is the only one they have seen change since they started.

"The front of the property where Sugar Factory is now, we had a fountain out there that was a staple of the property," Annette Schwarz said.

Schwarz has held the same job as an executive assistant at Paris Las Vegas since the beginning, and was even sporting the same name tag she got for the opening. She said even after walking through the doors countless times she still enjoys pulling up to the iconic building.

"It is a beautiful place to come to work every day," Schwarz said.

Paris is planning to hold several other events throughout September, especially for the 705 employees that have been with the company since day one.
