Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Local foster children have some new advocates in their corner.
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers were sworn in on Monday at District Family Court. They'll represent foster children to make sure they have a voice in court.
Officials said there are about 355 CASA's in the county, but more than 3,600 children in the Child Welfare System.
"It's an amazing organization that their values and their mission and their goals is definitely something everyone should be interested in and want to do," said Shante Willis, new volunteer.
The volunteers got right to work, receiving their cases right after the ceremony.
