Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An iconic shopping center from the mid-1960s through the 80s will be restored to its former glory.
The Boulevard Mall is preparing for its first major renovation in more than two decades. The County Planning Commission approved the changes on Wednesday.
They're being proposed by a commercial real estate company that acquired the property in December for more than $50 million.
Now, they're planning the renovation as an overall redevelopment effort of the Maryland Parkway Corridor.
"We plan to make this a great consumer experience, coming to the mall. It will not just be about shopping for clothes. It will be about entertainment. We're hoping to bring theaters, bowling, miniature golf and dieting," said Roland Sansone, Sansone Companies.
Renovations on the 1.2 million square foot property will start this year, and should be finished next year.
