Barbara Walters will get a star-studded send-off Friday (May 16) as she co-hosts "The View" for the last time. The show was taped Thursday afternoon.

Famous friends including Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton and actor Michael Douglas stopped by to honor the news legend. In addition, other female broadcasting icons who say Walters paved the way for them also were on set for the taping. They included: Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer, Jane Pauley, Joan Lunden, Connie Chung, Elizabeth Vargas, Robin Roberts, Amy Robach, Juju Chang, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford, Maria Shriver, Gayle King, Lisa Ling and others.

After five decades in the business, Walters says she is ready for some quiet time. She says that she is looking forward to traveling and not having a schedule.

Walters was also on "Good Morning America" Friday morning. A two-hour special titled "Barbara Walters: Her Story" will air at 9 p.m. EP/PT. Friday on ABC.

Walters' fans aren't limited to the people she has interviewed or her colleagues in the business. A woman in New Orleans is expressing her admiration by getting a tattoo of Walters on her arm.

Liz Dodd says that the tattoo is a symbol of empowerment.
