A group of men ended up watching to Kentucky Derby on television rather than in person after the discovery of a dead body in the RV they’d rented to get to Kentucky derailed their plans. Their trip from Minnesota to Kentucky was to have been a bachelor party.
The dozen men rented the RV from a private owner in Minnesota, who reportedly told them not to open the front compartments of the vehicle because they didn’t work. But when a foul odor coming from those compartment got them curious, the men discovered a decomposing body inside. They had not yet made it out of Minnesota.
That body has since been identified as Kevin Casserly, a 22-year-old father of two from Anoka, Minn., who has been missing since November.
According to Fox News
, “The groom and his pals had started out in the Twin Cities and stopped off in Winona to pick up a few more partygoers. The friends found the body in a front exterior storage compartment of the RV.”
Casserly reportedly had been “involved in methamphetamine use and criminal activity earlier in his life, but was trying to get his life together before he disappeared,” according to Fox News.
Groom-to-be Dan Trainor, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the whole episode "was like we were in the middle of a movie."
