Katy Perry: 'Mick Jagger hit on me when I was 18'

When she was 18, Katy Perry says she did a lot of work for "Taco Bell money," including singing background vocals on tunes by Miley Cyrus and others. But she also had her hands full in other ways, it seems, fighting off the advances of a Rolling Stone. In a recent interview with Australian DJs Ash, Kip and Luttsy, Katy, now 29, says Mick Jagger, who is now 70, hit on her when she was a teenager. The two met when she was doing backing vocals for Mick's song, "Old Habits Die Hard."

"I actually went to dinner with him one time, and he hit on me one time, when I was, like, 18," she said

In spite of that awkward proposition, which she politely turned down, everything is good between the pop star and the rock legend now. "That was a long time ago," the "Roar" singer says. "Since then he's been very kind and I got to sing 'Beast of Burden' with him on his stage on the Rolling Stones tour."

Katy joked with the DJs about the best way to turn down a rock legend. "Well, you bring a friend and then they do them," she said. "You sacrifice your friend. 'See ya!'"

For his part, Jagger says the incident never happened.

"Mick Jagger categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry," the singer's rep said in a statement. "Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else."
