Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez mysteriously transported from jail to hospital, returned
After initial speculation, it's now confirmed that former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez was taken from his jail cell and transported to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Mass., on June 21.
However, due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPA) Act, the reason for the hospital visit is not known at this time.
"[Bristol County Sheriff Thomas] Hodgson was unable to disclose why Hernandez was admitted to the hospital, except to say that it was not caused by a fight, security issue or any other problem at the jail," reports CNN.
Hernandez was mysteriously reported as having been at the hospital for less than a half hour and then directly returned to the Bristol County House of Correction in North Dartmouth, Mass.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to multiple murder charges. He "awaits a trial on first-degree murder charges in the June 2013 death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd" and "murder in the July 2012 deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado," further reports CNN.
