Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new high flying attraction has joined the Las Vegas skyline as the VooDoo Zip Line opened atop the Rio.
The high flying ride is the latest attraction to open in Las Vegas, giving adrenaline junkies a chance to launch from the 50th floor of the Masquerade Tower to the 20th floor of Ipanema Tower.
It’s all done at 30 miles an hour.
"Vegas is about giving people many options of entertainment, and this is just another unique different experience for folks," Rio Assistant GM Dan Walsh said.
Before anyone rode down the line, employees tested it hundreds of times to make sure it was safe to send people traveling 30 miles an hour from roof to roof.
"They've been out here morning noon and night doing there tests. The county inspects that," Walsh said.
While they didn't fear for their safety, the first riders said they were left breathless.
"I went into a brain freeze. I couldn't, I couldn't even think where I was at," Van Kim said.
Van Kim said he is up for any thrill in Las Vegas. In fact, he made a special trip from Phoenix to be the first paying customer.
With that kind of excitement surrounding these high profile rides, managers said more could be on the way.
"If these things are successful, maybe it becomes the model for the future to have more rides," Walsh said.
Rides vary between $27.50 and $42.50 depending on the time of day or night.
