Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police arrested a woman following a fight that ended in a fatal stabbing.
On Tuesday around 11 p.m., patrol officers responded to a business located in the 3500 block of South Maryland Parkway to investigate reports of a fight in the parking lot.
Arriving officers discovered an adult female suffering from apparent stab wounds and another adult female being detained by a patron of the business.
The injured female was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center where she was later pronounced dead.
The second female, later identified as 22-year-old Sarah Chavez, was taken into custody without incident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Chavez and the victim had been involved in an argument that turned into a physical altercation inside of the business.
The fight progressed into a rear parking lot where it was broken up by another citizen. During the fight, the victim appeared to have suffered apparent stab wounds.
Chavez was arrested for murder with a deadly weapon and was transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
