Largest rockabilly party in the world happening this weekend
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Classic cars, live music, pretty girls and vendors are descending on The Orleans this weekend.
It's all part of the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender from April 17-20, which has been called the largest rockabilly party in the world.
There will be a car show will more than 800 cars dated pre-1963 and performances by more than 65 artists in six music venues inside the casino and on an outdoor stage.
Some of the performers include Imelda May, The Trashmen, The Chop Tops, The Aquasonics, The Jive Aces, Jittery Jack, Carmen Lee, Vintage Vandals and Moonlight Howlers.
The rockabilly event will also feature a burlesque show. Performers scheduled to perform include Immodesty Blaize, Angie Pontani, Ophelia Flame, Audrey Delux, and Cleo Viper.
Other events include pool parties, the Hives & Dollz Show, a jiving competition, swimsuit competitions, a pin up contest, burlesque bingo, a tattoo contest and on-site weddings.
The popular event began in 1998 with about 1,200 attendees at the Gold Coast. Now, several thousand attend the event each year.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. April 17, 10 a.m. April 18, 9 a.m. April 19 and noon April 20. A four-day pass costs $135 for adults and $50 for children. Tickets to the car show only are $30.
