LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Want a courthouse all to yourself?

An old Clark County hall of justice is going up for auction Tuesday for bidders willing to pay at least $10 million.

The seven-story, 315,000-square-foot building in downtown Las Vegas has been vacant since the newer Regional Justice Center was completed in 2005.

It costs the county $140,000 a year to maintain.

Written bids will be accepted until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and verbal bids will be accepted during the Clark County Commission meeting that starts at 10 a.m.

The existing building was built in 1960 and designed Vegas architects Walter Zick and Harris Sharp, but the property has been part of Las Vegas history much longer.

Union Pacific Railroad dedicated the land in 1905 for use as a court, jail, library and city hall.
