Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- Union Pacific has confirmed a train derailed on Sunday evening near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
It happened near the 215 and Lamb around 9:45 p.m.
Officials said 19 cars and one locomotive derailed. There were 103 cars altogether on the train, each carrying about 75 tons of coal.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the derailment is still being investigated.
Union Pacific plans to have the derailed cars moved and the track fixed by 4 a.m. on Tuesday. They said about 12 trains use the line each day.
The train was traveling from Utah to California.
