Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A push for safety changes along Blue Diamond is now coming from a state senator.
Mark Manendo said he's been hearing from a lot of residents who live near the busy street.
He, like many of them, is also pushing for more street lights, crosswalks and even for the speed limit to be lowered.
Since 14-year-old Helen Liu's death and other serious accidents on Blue Diamond, many residents have been demanding something be done to make the street safer.
Right now the speed limit along Blue Diamond is 55 miles per hour. Manendo would like to see that dropped in some areas to 45 miles per hour.
