Updated on Jan. 20: Action News has learned the missing girl has been found safe.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Red Rock Search and Rescue is currently on the hunt for a teen that has gone missing.
15-year-old Kearstin Ellis, a student at Desert Pines High School, reportedly did not come home from school on Friday.
Parents James and Andi Ellis said she has gotten into a disagreement with them on Thursday, but they believed everything was back to normal on Friday morning when she left for school.
With tears in her eyes, her mother, Andi, told Action News, "I'm hoping that she's a runaway and that she can come home if she wants to because the alternative to that is not somewhere I want to go." In a message to his daughter, James added, "We love you. We miss you and [we] want you home."
Red Rock Search and Rescue dispatched their team around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
They have seven teams that are made up of bicycle, foot and vehicle patrol.
Ellis was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and black shoes.
RRSAR said she is supposed to be on medication to treat bipolar disorder.
Volunteers spent most of Sunday searching the neighborhood around Jaycee Park because park goers claimed they saw her there in the morning. She was reportedly hanging out with a tall, white male and was still wearing her school uniform.
RRSAR had to suspend its search once it got dark on Sunday night.
